About Antigone Solutions Pvt Ltd

Antigone Solutions is a defence-focused start-up that specializes in the design, development, engineering, and manufacturing of electronics solutions for aerospace and defence applications.

We provide end-to-end engineering capabilities — from custom module and subsystem design, to prototype development, to build-to-specification and build-to-print manufacturing.

Our mission aligns with “Make in India” initiatives, collaborating with defence labs and aerospace organizations to build indigenous, high-reliability systems.

Role Overview

As a Power Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating power electronics systems (AC-DC, DC-DC converters, power supplies, etc.) tailored for rugged, high-reliability aerospace and defence applications. You will work closely with system engineers, PCB designers, test engineers, and hardware teams to deliver power subsystems that meet strict performance, safety, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power conversion circuits (AC–DC, DC–DC) for defence-grade electronic products.
  • Perform circuit simulation, analysis (efficiency, thermal, EMI/EMC), and optimization using tools like SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar.
  • Select and size components (magnetics, capacitors, switching devices) for power systems under performance and cost constraints.
  • Develop PCB layouts for power electronics, ensuring thermal management, signal integrity, and compliance with high-reliability design standards.
  • Define protection schemes, such as over-current, over-voltage, short-circuit protection, and implement in hardware.
  • Work with test engineers to develop test plans, validate prototypes, and iterate designs based on test feedback (efficiency, load regulation, thermal performance).
  • Perform reliability analysis, MTBF estimation, and design for lifetime in harsh environments (vibration, temperature, humidity).
  • Collaborate on system integration: interface power modules with other subsystems, ensuring proper power sequencing, startup/shutdown behavior, and safety.
  • Support documentation: create design reports, test plans, test reports, user manuals, and maintenance guidelines.
  • Stay current on power electronics technology trends, new components, and best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–7 years of experience in power electronics design, preferably in aerospace, defence, or high-reliability environments.
  • Hands-on experience with circuit simulation tools (SPICE, PLECS, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of PCB layout for power electronics (including thermal design, layout best practices).
  • Experience in designing magnetics (inductors, transformers) is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of EMI/EMC issues in power electronics and their mitigation.
  • Experience with component selection (semiconductors, capacitors, passives) for high-performance power systems.
  • Familiarity with power protection techniques (crowbar, MOVs, TVS, current limiting).
  • Testing and validation experience: ability to design test plans, perform lab tests, and debug prototypes.
  • Knowledge of reliability and derating principles in electronics design.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a startup environment and handle multiple tasks.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience with switch-mode power supply (SMPS) topologies (e.g., buck, boost, flyback, forward, resonant).
  • Experience in ruggedized or military-grade power supply design.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, such as MIL-STD, DO-160, or equivalent.
  • Thermal simulation experience (using tools like Ansys, FloTHERM, or equivalent).
  • Experience with PCB manufacturing & qualification in defence or aerospace context.
  • Exposure to embedded firmware for power management (optional).
  • Familiarity with project management, including coordinating with cross-functional teams.

What Antigone Offers

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge, defence-grade power electronics systems that contribute to “Make in India.”
  • A collaborative and high-impact role in a growing engineering start-up.
  • Access to design, prototyping, and testing facilities.
  • Competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Exposure to cross-domain projects in electronics engineering, subsystems, and product development.
