Mechanical engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our product development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and developing mechanical components and assemblies for our products. This includes working on enclosures, thermal management systems, mounting solutions, and ensuring mechanical integrity throughout the product lifecycle.

The role involves close collaboration with electronics, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure mechanical designs meet functional, aesthetic, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and enclosures using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, etc.)
• Translate product requirements into mechanical concepts and detailed engineering drawings
• Perform tolerance analysis, interference checks, and DFM/DFA reviews
• Collaborate with electrical and PCB design teams to ensure optimal electro-mechanical integration
• Support procurement team in prototyping, and manufacture of mechanical designs
• Perform basic thermal, structural, and vibration analysis (using simulation or manual methods)
• Prepare technical documentation including 2D drawings, BOMs, and material specifications and compliance of assembly to final requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for fabrication, tooling, and assembly processes
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (IP ratings, MIL-STD, IEC, etc.)

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• [2–6] years of experience in mechanical design and product development
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of materials (plastics, metals), manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, injection molding), and mechanical fasteners
• Experience in thermal management, sealing (IP-rated enclosures), and structural design
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups
• Good understanding of product development life cycle and version control

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with FEA tools (like ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, etc.)
• Exposure to mechanical design in harsh environments (defense, aerospace, and industrial)
• Familiarity with environmental testing standards (vibration, shock, thermal cycling)
• Experience with rapid prototyping approach and 3D printing
• Understanding of packaging and integration of PCBs, displays, connectors, and cable harness
