Job Title: Lead Embedded Engineer

About the Role 

We are seeking a Lead Embedded Engineer to drive the design, development, and testing of embedded

systems for mission-critical defense applications. The ideal candidate should

have a solid background in embedded hardware and firmware development, hands-on

experience with microcontrollers and FPGAs, and a deep understanding of design

and validation processes for ruggedized systems used in defense-grade

environments. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Lead the design and development of embedded systems for RF, control, and communication subsystems. 

Architect firmware solutions using C/C++, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments. 

Interface with hardware design teams for schematic and PCB reviews to ensure firmware-hardware compatibility. 

Collaborate on FPGA-based designs, assisting with logic integration, communication interfaces, and timing validation. 

Conduct system-level integration and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG tools. 

Ensure all designs comply with defense industry standards for EMI/EMC, ruggedization, and reliability. 

Prepare detailed documentation including design specifications, test plans, and validation reports. 

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project planning, design reviews, and customer discussions. 

 


 

Required Skill & Experience

4–5 years of experience in embedded system design within the defense or aerospace domain

Strong proficiency in C/C++, embedded firmware design, and RTOS/Linux development.         

Experience with ARM, DSP, or Microchip/PIC microcontrollers

Exposure to FPGA-based design, including basic Verilog/VHDL understanding or IP

integration. 

Hands-on experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet interfaces.     

Working knowledge of hardware debugging tools and PCB bring-up processes.        

Familiarity with DO-254, MIL-STD, or similar defense compliance standards.      

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
