Job Title: Field Sales Officer – Solar Products

Location: Chennai

Job Type: Full-time

Reports To: Sales Manager / Regional Sales Head


Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Field Sales Officer to promote and sell solar energy solutions. The role involves generating leads, meeting prospective clients, explaining product benefits, and closing sales deals. The ideal candidate should have experience in field sales, preferably in the renewable energy or solar sector, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and target potential customers, including residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
  • Client Meetings: Visit customer locations to explain product offerings, conduct site assessments, and present customised solutions.
  • Sales Presentations: Demonstrate solar products, benefits, and return-on-investment to prospective clients.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Prepare proposals, handle objections, negotiate pricing, and close sales.
  • Market Research: Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer preferences to identify business opportunities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate sales records, client information, and follow-up schedules.
  • After-Sales Support: Coordinate with technical and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Provide daily/weekly sales reports to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum 6 Months -1 years of field sales experience (solar industry experience preferred).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and explain them to non-technical customers.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and customer-oriented.
