Job description

Role & responsibilities

Purpose of the position: -

·       Leads, guides and provides operational and strategic directions to the entire operations and profitability of the Construction Vertical Industrial, Commercial business of the organization.

Project Management \

·       Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

·       Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.

·       Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.

·       Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.

·       Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.

·       Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.

·       Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.

·       Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

·       Assures project legal documents are completed and signed.

·       Identifies business development and add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.

·       Leads proposal efforts including completing project scoping and LOE assessments.

Project Accounting

·       Ensures a comprehensive budget is in place for the Vertical

·       Ensures that a detailed budget is in place for each project and management of the budget

·       Ensures tracking and reporting of man hours and expenses on a weekly basis.

·       Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.

·       Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization

·       Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.

·       Understands our pricing model and billing procedures

·       Prepare extra claim for items other than quoted / agreement items and claim then and there

·       Makes out regularly monthly billing as per agreement, follow up and collect payment

Client Management

·       Sets and manages client expectations.

·       Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.

·       Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

·       Builds a knowledge base of each client’s business, organization and objectives.

Internal Operations

·       Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

·       Leads internal teams/task forces

·       Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.

·       Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.

·       Cross check sub-contractor’s bills with quantities claimed with Client’s bill.

·       Reconcile the material consumption with Client’s quantities




Preferred candidate profile

Required Qualities and skills

·       BE / B.Tech – Civil with 10-15 years in leadership position – managing a construction business involving Industrial Construction, Commercial, real estate construction including pre-cast concrete business.

·       Should be able to manage a 2000 Cr business with full P&L responsibility

·       Should have very good experience in Budgeting, Budget monitoring, Variance and its analysis.

·       Should be experience in managing green and Brown field projects and comply with all quality and safety protocols.

·       Should be experience in all project Management Tools and ensures completion of projects on time

·       Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.

·       Should have excellent communication skills

·       Should be very good in stakeholder management.

·       Should be ready to work out of Hyderabad Location –when situation demands

·       Effectively conveys message in both written and verbal business development discussions.

·       Oversea and supervise the shuttering carried out at sites and suggest cost effective safe shuttering technology and educate the subordinates with sketch

·       Age – Around 50. Not to exceed 51.

·       Salary not a constraint for the right candidate
