Job Overview

The Senior Fashion Designer position at Lakhmi Chand Tejoo Mal is a full-time role based at our Delhi headquarters. We are seeking an experienced professional with 7-10 years of expertise, specifically in ladies' ethnic wear, to lead design, conceptualization, and coordination in our creative team. This role demands dynamic leadership and in-depth industry knowledge to drive our ethnic women’s wear collection forward.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 7 to 10 years of proven work experience in fashion design with specific focus on ladies’ ethnic wear, such as ethnic dresses, suits, kurtis, lehengas, and gowns (Mandatory skill).
• Demonstrated experience in handling and designing Ladies Ethnic in Women’s wear with a thorough understanding of traditional and contemporary styles (Mandatory skill).
• Proficiency in coordinating with the Sampling department to ensure seamless design-to-sample execution (Mandatory skill).
• Strong ability to create innovative designs for women’s ethnic brands, aligning with the latest fashion techniques and concepts (Mandatory skill).
• Comprehensive knowledge and research capabilities on seasonal trends, colors, prints, fabrics, and stylings to ensure collections are current and market-relevant.
• Exceptional creativity and vision in developing unique sketches and concepts based on seasonal inspiration and reference.
• A keen eye for detail in fabric selection, pattern-making, and garment construction to ensure high-quality final products.
• Effective communication skills to clearly articulate design concepts to cross-functional teams and management, ensuring collaborative success.
• Ability to multitask and manage several design projects simultaneously while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the ideation, conceptualization, and creation of fresh, market-driven ladies’ ethnic wear collections, including ethnic dresses, suits, kurtis, lehengas, and gowns.
• Oversee the end-to-end development process from design sketching to final product, ensuring aesthetic excellence and alignment with brand philosophy.
• Coordinate and collaborate with the Sampling department to ensure precise translation of design ideas into ready samples, maintaining high standards of execution.
• Research seasonal trends, materials, and fashion elements to generate innovative ideas for upcoming collections, ensuring commercial viability.
• Prepare mood boards, color palettes, and design illustrations in line with current market insights and brand strategy.
• Partner with merchandising, production, and marketing teams to successfully launch new collections and support sales initiatives.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions to source inspiration, build connections, and keep abreast of shifting market preferences.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and inspiring work environment to cultivate creative talent and drive team performance.
