1. Basic Mission We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant to the Nesting HOD for CNC Laser and Plasma Cutting operations. In this role, you will be responsible for nesting jobs efficiently while minimizing material scrap, managing uncut sheet inventory, and ensuring a consistent flow of work for our cutting machines.

2. Job Description and Roles Responsibilities

1. Receive work orders from the production department and analyze cutting requirements.

2. Utilize nesting software to optimize material usage for CNC Laser and Plasma cutting machines, maximizing efficiency and minimizing scrap.

3. Maintain an accurate inventory of uncut sheets of different sizes and thicknesses.

4. Utilize available uncut sheets effectively in subsequent nesting files to minimize waste.

5. Ensure at least 10 days' worth of nested jobs are prepared in advance for each Laser and Plasma cutting machine.

6. Plan cutting jobs in accordance with the production department's planning sheets, coordinating with production supervisors and machine operators.

7. Monitor material usage and scrap generation, identifying areas for improvement in nesting efficiency.

8. Prepare reports on nesting performance and material utilization.

9. Assist the Nesting HOD with other tasks as needed.

3. Hierarchy: Jointly working with Fabrication Teams, Production Team. Reporting to in charge: Nesting In-Charge

4. Key Performance Factors Core competencies - Knowledge of Using Autocad (Basic) - Good Planning skills - Good Excel and Basic computer operation skill

5. Qualifications - Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field (preferred). - Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC Laser and Plasma cutting operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment. - Strong understanding of nesting principles and optimization techniques. - Proficient in using nesting software (e.g., Radan, Esprit, Hypertherm ProNest). - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
