JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

Job Title: Senior Associate – US Accounting  

Location: Mohali, Punjab 

Employment Type: Full-Time [Work from Office] 

Shift Time: 7:30 PM – 4:30 AM [IST] 

Job Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 7-8 years of expertise in US accounting to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance. This role involves managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. 
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. 
  • Analyze financial data and variances to support strategic decision-making. 
  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper account classification and accuracy. 
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly and discrepancies are resolved promptly. 
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns. 
  • Ensure compliance with US tax regulations, including sales/use tax, property tax, and other applicable taxes. 
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation. 
  • Support SOX compliance requirements (if applicable). 
  • Supervise AP and AR processes to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments and collections. 
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor aging reports to improve cash flow 
  • Lead preparation for internal and external audits, providing necessary schedules and documentation. 
  • Address auditor queries and ensure adherence to audit timelines. 
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing support and training as needed. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems for greater efficiency. 
  • Stay updated on changes to US GAAP, IRS regulations, and accounting best practices. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar). 
  • Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of US GAAP is mandatory. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
