Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Naval Architect to join our dynamic team at SAMS KAPPAL COLLEGE located in Chennai. This full-time role is ideal for candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience. Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must to create and modify detailed 2D and 3D designs for ship structures and systems (Mandatory skill).
  • Expertise in ShipConstructor is crucial for designing and detailing shipbuilding projects with precision (Mandatory skill).
  • Strong knowledge in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for simulating fluid behavior and optimizing ship designs (Mandatory skill).
  • Experience with ANSYS to perform complex engineering simulations for structural and fluid dynamics analysis.
  • Proficiency in Rhino 3D is needed for creating complex 3D models and mock-ups for ship designs.
  • A strong understanding of Hydrostatics Analysis to assess buoyancy, stability, and balance of maritime structures.
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to predict how products react to real-world forces and stresses.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Software for overseeing project timelines, resources, and deliverables efficiently.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior architects and engineers to develop new ship designs, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations.
  • Conduct computational simulations using CFD and FEA tools to validate design concepts and optimize solutions.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and models using AutoCAD and ShipConstructor for construction and modification projects.
  • Perform hydrostatic and structural analysis to ensure vessel stability and compliance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate with project management teams to align design deliverables with project schedules and client expectations.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, reports, and documentation for review by stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry trends and advancements in naval architecture and marine engineering.
  • Contribute to academic programs by offering insights from industry practices and innovations in naval architecture.
