Job Description for Design Engineer – CRP & SAS

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer (Electrical) with hands-on experience in Control & Relay Panel (CRP) and Substation Automation System (SAS) design. The candidate must have worked in a similar role with exposure to Reliserv Solution's products, systems, and standards. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling CRP and SAS project designs from engineering to final documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and engineering of Control & Relay Panels (CRP) and SAS for substations up to 400kV level.
• Experience for MV Panel design will be considered
• Preparation of detailed Schematic Drawings, GA drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and Bill of Materials.
• Understanding and interpretation of client specifications, single line diagrams (SLDs), and protection philosophies.
• Configuring and integrating IEDs, protection relays, and automation components as per SAS architectures.
• Coordination with project managers, panel manufacturing team, testing & commissioning engineers to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
• Providing technical support during FAT/SAT, and making required design modifications.
• Ensuring designs meet IEC, IS, and customer-specific standards, especially aligned with Reliserv's standard engineering practices.
• Hands-on usage of AutoCAD or EPLAN for detailed electrical design.
• Preparing and maintaining all project-related documentation and as-built drawings.

Required Skills:

• In-depth understanding of Substation Protection & Automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of relay configuration (e.g., ABB, Siemens, SEL, GE, Schneider).
• Working knowledge of IEC 61850 communication protocols and its implementation.
• Familiarity with Reliserv Solution’s CRP/SAS engineering practices is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD / EPLAN / Electrical CAD tools.
• Excellent communication, technical documentation, and team coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in design execution of CRP/SAS projects 
• Knowledge of electrical switchgear and substation layout.
• Experience in coordinating with utilities like PGCIL, NTPC, MSETCL, GETCO, etc.
