Job Purpose

The Audio Engineer will create, edit, and enhance audio recordings, ensuring high-quality sound production for live events and studio projects. The Audio Engineer will work closely with clients' and team members to ensure all audio deliverables meet specified requirements, deadlines, and technical standards. This role demands a keen ear for sound, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments while maintaining professionalism.

Job Duties

• Understanding client briefs: Interpret and understand the audio requirements of each project based on client specifications.
• Set up and maintain equipment: Select, install, and ensure the proper functioning of sound and mixing equipment in the studio or at event locations.
• Audio recording and mixing: Capture, manipulate, and mix live and recorded audio to meet project standards.
• Fix and enhance sound quality: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with audio equipment and adjust the sound quality for live and recorded events.
• Collaborate with teams: Work closely with clients, producers, artists, and other technical teams (e.g., video, lighting) to ensure sound quality aligns with the overall production goals.
• Create and maintain sound libraries: Build a catalogue of high-quality sound effects, ensuring easy access and organisation for future projects.
• Stay updated on industry trends: Continuously seek new methods, tools, and technologies that enhance sound production and engineering techniques.
• Provide client support: Regularly communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction, adjust to feedback, and meet project deadlines.
• Train and mentor junior staff: Offer guidance and training to less experienced or junior audio engineers.
• Ensure safety and compliance: Set up equipment safely and adhere to all health and safety standards for studio and live environments.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge

• Extensive understanding of modern audio recording, editing, and mixing techniques.
• Knowledge of sound equipment such as mixers, microphones, equalisers, amplifiers, and audio editing software like Pro Tools.

Education
