Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate Music Teacher to join our team at Podar International School in Mysuru. This is a full-time, junior position requiring 1 to 3 years of experience. The Music Teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality music education to students, helping them develop their musical skills and fostering a love for music. This role requires expertise in piano, guitar, and vocal music.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 1 year experience in teaching music in a structured educational environment.
• Piano proficiency to teach students of varying skill levels, ensuring clear understanding and skill development. (Mandatory skill)
• Ability to instruct guitar lessons, focusing on both individual and group learning environments. (Mandatory skill)
• Skilled in vocal coaching, able to guide students in improving their singing techniques and performance skills. (Mandatory skill)
• Strong understanding of music theory to effectively teach students about compositional structures and musical components.
• Experience with digital audio workstations (DAWs) for recording and producing student performances.
• Proficient in sight-reading to teach students the essential skill of reading music at first sight.
• Familiar with music production software to assist in arranging and producing student musical projects.
• Ability to develop curriculums that balance practical and theoretical aspects of music learning.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Create and implement lesson plans that reflect curriculum goals and the diverse learning needs of students.
• Instruct students in various musical instruments including piano and guitar, and engage them with vocal training.
• Plan and execute music recitals and performances to showcase student talents and progress.
• Evaluate student progress through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback.
• Encourage student's artistic development and foster a love for music in a supportive environment.
• Coordinate with faculty to integrate music education with other curricula and school activities.
• Maintain updated records of student progress and participate in parent-teacher meetings.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in music education and incorporate them into the educational practice.
