Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Counselor to fill our leave vacancy at Podar International School in Kolhapur. This is a full-time, junior-level position requiring 1 to 3 years of work experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing counseling services to students and will possess specific skills related to psychology and school counseling.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in counseling or related fields.
- Proficiency in counseling students in a school environment (Mandatory skill).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Applied Psychology.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development stages and corresponding psychological needs.
- Capability to identify and address emotional, behavioral, and academic issues in students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines in counseling practices.
- Proactive and empathetic approach towards problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address academic, emotional, and social issues.
- Develop and implement comprehensive counseling programs that cater to the well-being of students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school administrators to identify student needs and plan interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student counseling sessions and progress reports.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust counseling methods accordingly.
- Organize workshops and seminars for students, teachers, and parents on relevant topics such as mental health and stress management.
- Assist in crisis intervention and provide immediate support to students in distress.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in counseling techniques and educational psychology to enhance counseling services.
