Purpose of The Role
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all building infrastructure, utilities, and MEP systems at Jio World Garden to support steady-state operations, large-format events, exhibitions, and high-footfall activities. The role requires proactive planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring operational readiness, statutory compliance, asset longevity, and seamless coordination with event and operations teams. The incumbent will play a critical role in maintaining engineering excellence, minimizing downtime, and delivering world-class facility standards.
Job Accountabilities
Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Develop, implement, and monitor a robust Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program for all MEP and infrastructure systems
- Ensure timely completion of preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize operational disruptions
- Plan maintenance schedules in alignment with event calendars to maximize planned downtime and avoid service interruptions
- Ensure routine inspections, testing, and calibration of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and utility systems.
Engineering Operations & Asset Reliability
- Oversee day-to-day operation of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, lighting, and utility systems
- Optimize equipment performance to meet defined KPIs related to uptime, reliability, and energy efficiency
- Maintain accurate asset registers, equipment history cards, and maintenance logs.
- Implement structured root cause analysis (RCA) for critical failures and ensure corrective and preventive actions.
Event Readiness & Operational Support
- Actively participate in event planning meetings to assess engineering requirements and risk factors
- Ensure all technical systems are event-ready prior to handover to operations.
- Coordinate manpower deployment based on event scale and operational demands.
- Provide on-ground engineering support during events to ensure uninterrupted services.
Contractor & Vendor Management
- Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors engaged for maintenance and specialized services
- Monitor contractor performance, adherence to safety standards, and service quality.
- Validate work completion, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure contractual obligations and SLAs are met effectively.
Budget & Cost Control
- Assist in preparation of annual maintenance budgets & monitor expenditure against approved allocations
- Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising system performance or safety
- Control material consumption and support efficient inventory planning for spares and consumables
Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to applicable statutory norms, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Ensure safe systems of work, including permit-to-work processes where applicable.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain structured documentation of SOPs, maintenance checklists, and operational manuals
- Ensure accurate system data storage and reporting.
- Keep abreast of new technologies, automation trends, and industry best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and system longevity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- MBA in Operations (preferred)
Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of MEPF systems and utilities management.
- Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Good understanding of building systems, event infrastructure, and high-footfall facility operations
- Strong planning and coordination skills
- Ability to analyze technical issues and implement corrective solutions.
- High interpersonal and stakeholder management capability.
- Ability to work under pressure during large-scale events.
- Leadership orientation with accountability mindset.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as business demands
Experience
- 7 plus years of experience in engineering and maintenance roles within large commercial complexes, event venues, malls, hospitality environments, or infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience in managing MEP systems and coordinating contractors in operational environments.
- Experience supporting event-based operations preferred
