Purpose of The Role
The incumbent is responsible for FC&A operations including however not limited to budget management, MIS reporting, accounts payables and statutory compliances across businesses. The role requires reconciling financial data, analysing expenditures as per budget discipline, accurate financial reporting and internal controls.
Job Accountabilities
Budget Management / Account Payables
- Prepare the budget document as per Annual Operating Plan, for upload on SAP / ERP system across businesses / functions and cost centres
- Responsible to carry forward and reconcile the previous year’s purchase requisitions (PR) and purchase orders (PO) as applicable
- Manage any open provisions and impact of budgets
- Responsible for capex budget management process
- Inter-departmental / business-wise co-ordination and distribution of the approved budget
- Month-end closing budget transfers as per standard operating procedure
- Monitor the budgets of assigned departments throughout the budget year
- Perform AP ledger / GL reconciliations, prepare reports on aged payables / cash flow, payment forecasts and outstanding balances
- Serve as the point of contact for businesses / departments regarding budget management
- Ensure accurate checks and controls are adhered to while dealing with internal / external stakeholders
- Bridge the gap between routine disbursements and strategic financial planning, for optimal cash flow and expense control.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, company’s financial policies and regulations
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in AP / budget management operations
- Manage audit responsibilities efficiently. (Internal and Statutory)
- Manage GST compliance for Jio World Centre businesses
- Responsible for purchase register analysis on a regular basis for GST usage codes and corrections; sales register analysis
- Manage GST reversals as per statutory laws
- Manage GST ITC mismatch report collations and follow-up with vendor for corrections
- Oversee TDS transactions analysis for correctness of applicable TDS on regular basis
- Responsible for updation of vendors lower deduction certificates
- Monthly corporate MIS reporting on statutory compliances
- Follow-up on compliance issues that have been recommended as findings of Audits or internal checks
Accounting & Analysis
- Responsible for month-end closing activities, primarily related to budget management / compliance
- Prepare AP aging reports, analysis for open advances & follow up for closure and variance analysis for management review.
- Maintain various payment schedule trackers
Qualifications
- CA / CFA / MBA (Finance)
Skills
- Understanding and experience of SAP module and ERP systems
- Understanding of TDS related compliances
- Understanding of GST related compliances
- Proficiency in experience with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of AP principles, internal controls, and compliance requirements
- Business acumen
- Detail oriented, with a focus on accuracy
- Critical thinking, complex problem solving and decision-making skills
- Risk management and analytical abilities
Experience
- At least 7 years of relevant work experience in accounting and tax compliances
- Hands on experience with accounting systems / ERP platforms.
- Work experience in Hospitality / service industry is preferred
