A multifaceted development of its kind in India, it includes the musical Fountain of Joy, an upscale retail experience, a multivenue cultural centre, selection of cafés and fine dining restaurants, serviced apartments and offices, and one of India’s largest convention facilities – the Jio World Convention Centre. The Centre opened to the public with the Jio World Convention Centre and the Fountain of Joy at Dhirubhai Ambani Square in early 2022. ​ The Jio World Centre is strategically located in Mumbai’s vibrant business and cultural hub of Bandra Kurla Complex. This centre has been developed with an international design vocabulary, while honouring the culture and spirit of India.

Purpose of The Role

The Engineer will be responsible for ELV system governance, energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across operational, event, and public spaces, while driving continuous improvement through technology adoption and best practices. The incumbent is to ensure the reliable, safe, and optimized operation of lighting automation and control systems across Jio World Centre by managing system operations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The role supports energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and seamless lighting experiences across all operational and event spaces within the facility. 

Job Accountabilities

Operations & Maintenance

• Maintain seamless integration between ELV subsystems and Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Ensure high availability and reliability of lighting automation systems across the facility.
• Oversee daily operations and performance of ELV systems to ensure stable, safe, and uninterrupted functioning
• Monitor daily operations of lighting control systems to ensure stable and efficient performance
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and enhance system safety.
• Respond promptly to alarms, service requests, and operational issues related to lighting automation systems

System Optimization & Energy Efficiency

• Manage and optimize lighting control and automation systems to ensure seamless operation across event, public, and back-of-house areas
• Analyse system performance data to identify optimization opportunities and energy-saving initiatives.
• Adjust lighting schedules, automation logic, and programmed scenes to improve comfort, efficiency, and safety

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

• Minimize system downtime through effective preventive and predictive maintenance practices
• Diagnose and resolve software-related issues in lighting control platforms such as Lutron, Traxon e:cue, Pharos, and Madrix to ensure uninterrupted operations
• Troubleshoot and optimize lighting protocols and connectivity including KNX (Konnex), DMX (Digital Multiplex), and DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface), as well as sensors, drivers, and network interfaces
• Adhere to electrical safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), during corrective and maintenance activities
• Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and vendors for advanced troubleshooting, system upgrades, and enhancements

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain up to date as-built drawings, schematics, and system configuration records using AutoCAD
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, regulatory requirements, and internal safety standards
• Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, and audit reports related to lighting systems.
• Support safe operations and event readiness through proactive inspections and timely interventions

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with facility management, electrical teams, sustainability teams, and safety officers to ensure coordinated operations
• Provide technical support and guidance to on-ground operations and maintenance personnel
• Participate in safety briefings, technical reviews, and cross-functional coordination meetings
• Stay updated on advancements in lighting automation, controls, and energy-efficient technologies
• Contribute to continuous improvement by adopting emerging lighting automation technologies and best practices
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess system health, performance, and safety compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline
• Diploma holders with substantial ELV system experience may also be considered
• Certifications in KNX, Lutron, DALI, BMS, or ELV system integration will be an added advantage

Skills

• Strong end-to-end understanding of ELV systems in large commercial or mixed-use facilities
• Proven expertise in lighting automation systems, controls, and performance optimization
• Proficiency in ELV protocols including KNX, DMX, DALI, and IP-based control systems
• Experience with BMS integration and centralized monitoring platforms
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for ELV layouts, schematics, and documentation management
• Working knowledge of energy efficiency strategies, occupancy sensing, daylight integration, and automated control logic
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple systems and priorities in a complex operational environment
• Safety-first mindset with high attention to compliance and risk mitigation.
• Adaptability to evolving technologies and operational requirements

Experience

• 7 plus years of overall experience in managing ELV systems in large commercial, hospitality, convention, or mixed-use facilities
• 3 plus years of focused experience in lighting control and automation systems as a core functional responsibility.
• Experience working in complex, event-driven or high-footfall environments will be preferred
