Mechanical Design Engineer
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· 2 - 4 years of Engineering experience in New Product Development Process in plastic packaging of IP rated (IP65, IP67) enclosures.
· Ability to collaborate and work in a Team environment and owning up the task with self-initiative mindset.
· Experienced and proficient with 3D CAD software (preferably Solidworks)
· Hands on with 3D printing (FDM, SLA) & proto development is a must.
· Expected to understand, analyse field issues and find solutions with strong reasoning and testing methods with reports.
· Good working knowledge of Engineering Fundamentals, DFMEA, ECN, GD&T, drawing for production, tolerance analysis, Engineering Calculations and other product development associated techniques and tools
· Good knowledge on different manufacturing processes and material selection of plastic, Sheetmetal and Injection moulding processes.
· Experience in Electromechanical Product Design.
· Knowledgeable in problem solving skills
· Quickly learn established engineering processes (like Product development process – preferable CAPA, ECN, BOM, RFQ, etc.), standards, methods and procedures needed to accomplish assigned tasks with discipline.
· Be able to prioritize work, meet agreed project timelines, cost and quality
· Ability to develop Innovative Ideas
· Working knowledge of DFA, DFM
MAIN DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES OF JOB:
· Work collaboratively with Program Managers and Product Engineers on product designs and review technical inquiries from customers
· Provide consultation on standard product manufacturing, ease of assembly and benchmarking
· Perform packaging, conceptual and feasibility studies
· Create 2D drawings.
· Co-ordination with the injection moulding suppliers for design review and correction processes.
· Prepare CAD models and drawings for customers and engineering presentations as required
· Design of jigs and fixtures for the PCB’s.
· Improve speed and quality of designs and continuously improves a general knowledge of tools used in design – computer software and hardware through benchmarking and participating in training courses
· Make recommendations to improve organization and quality of work in the design department
