Job Title : Team Lead
Job Purpose: The 24x7 IT Infrastructure Monitoring Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the continuous monitoring of critical IT systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across infrastructure components. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and operational discipline to manage a team of monitoring analysts working in rotational shifts.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure monitoring (Such as HPE OpsRamp, SolarWinds, Manage Engine, etc.), with at least 2 years in a Team lead role
Responsibilities:
Monitoring Oversight:
- Lead and manage the 24x7 monitoring team responsible for real-time surveillance of servers, networks, storage, cloud platforms, and applications.
Incident Management:
- Ensure timely detection, logging, escalation, and resolution of infrastructure alerts and incidents. Maintain adherence to SLAs and escalation protocols.
Shift Coordination:
- Prepare and manage monthly rosters, ensuring balanced coverage across all shifts. Accommodate resource preferences while maintaining operational continuity.
Performance & Reporting:
- Track team KPIs, generate daily/weekly/monthly operational reports, and provide insights to improve monitoring effectiveness.
Knowledge Management:
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles. Ensure team members are trained and updated on monitoring tools and procedures.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for monitoring-related escalations. Coordinate with L2/L3 teams, service desk, and infrastructure leads.
Tool Optimization:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to fine-tune monitoring tools, thresholds, and dashboards for proactive alerting.
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure monitoring, with at least 2 years in a team lead role
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., HPE OpsRamp, SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios, Manage Engine, etc.)
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes, especially Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and lead teams across rotational shifts
