Job Summary:
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the book shop, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and achieving sales targets. The role involves promoting a love of books and reading while ensuring the store runs efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities:
- Store Operations
- Supervise and manage daily store operations
- Ensure the shop is clean, well-organized, and visually appealing
- Monitor cash handling, billing, and POS operations
- Maintain compliance with company policies and local regulations
- Customer Service
- Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction
- Resolve customer queries and complaints efficiently
- Promote reading and provide personalized book recommendations
- Sales & Marketing
- Meet or exceed sales targets and profitability goals
- Implement promotional campaigns and in-store events (book signings, reading sessions, etc.)
- Collaborate on social media or online promotions (if applicable)
- Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and place orders with publishers/distributors
- Coordinate stock receiving, labeling, shelving, and returns
- Conduct regular stock audits and prevent loss/damage
- Reporting
- Maintain sales reports, inventory reports, and staff attendance
- Provide insights to management on sales trends and customer preferences
Requirements:
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in retail management (preferably in a bookstore or similar environment)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for books and knowledge of different genres and authors
- Proficient in inventory software and POS systems
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Preferred Attributes:
- Background in literature or publishing
- Event management or customer engagement experience
- Familiarity with online book sales platforms or e-commerce
