Job Overview

The Assistant Chief Engineer will play a critical senior position role in ensuring the operational excellence of hotel engineering departments in locations including Ernakulam, Palakkad, Munnar, Malappuram, Thrissur, and Idukki. This full-time role requires candidates with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience of 7-10 years in building maintenance and repair practices.
• Strong ability in ensuring the smooth operation of a hotel's engineering department, including staff management.
• Competency in responding promptly to guest complaints regarding building systems and maintenance issues.
• Exceptional skills in overseeing all aspects of a hotel's engineering department, including routine maintenance (Mandatory skill).
• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems (Mandatory skill).
• Expertise in monitoring and maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities (Mandatory skill).
• Ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
• Fluency in diagnosing technical problems and implementing effective solutions promptly.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee all engineering operations including maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
• Manage and lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring they are motivated and effectively coordinated.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to keep the facility in optimal condition.
• Promptly address and resolve any guest complaints relating to building systems to maintain guest satisfaction.
• Conduct regular inspections of the premises to ensure standards are met and safety protocols are followed.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated operations across the hotel property.
