Technical Job Description :

• Work experience of 2+ years minimum (L2 level resource).
• Identifying performance bottlenecks and take adequate measures to rectify faults
• Patch administration – adding/removing patches as per user/system requirements
• Responsible for Linux server installation and configuration on physical machines and virtual machines
• Installation/kernel updation on client patching on red hat servers as per requirement
• Configuration of storage LUN/NFS on Linux Servers
• Server hardening, I/O and Memory performance
• Responsible for start-up and shutdown the servers and services
• Proactive monitoring of servers health and taking preventive/corrective action as required
• Monitoring server’s log and performance setting
• Migration of operating system from old hardware to new hardware
• Adding and configuring disk and creation of new file system
• Responsible for enabling and revoking privileges of users
• Responsible for NFS, Samba, NIS, DNS, SSH, FTP etc servers configuration and installation
• Server migration from physical to virtual
• Creating sparse root/whole root/zones
• Upgrading Linux OS versions to latest available versions
• Sharing softwares and files using NFS, autoFS
• Determining the business risk and technical impact of the changes
• Submitting RCA report to management
• Scheduling/controlling jobs using cron
• Performing remote connection and file transfer/creating archives/managing local disk devices and performing system security
• User/group administration, schedule maintenance tuning
• Basic shell programming for system administration
• Linux cluster setup cluster, pacemaker, stonith configuration
• Compliance of audit observations related to Linux operating system
• Operating system backup and restoration
• Good in Vendor coordination
