Mechanical Engineer – Marine, Offshore & Oil & Gas

Location: Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

Job Type: Full-time


Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in marine,

offshore, and oil & gas industries. The ideal candidate will have management experience,

overseeing engineering teams, project execution, and ensuring compliance with industry

standards. This role requires expertise in mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and

operational efficiency in offshore environments.


Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects in marine, offshore, and oil & gas

sectors.

• Oversee the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical

systems such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and piping.

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations (API, ASME, ISO, DNV, ABS) and safety

standards.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive maintenance strategies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, structural, and process

engineers.

• Optimize equipment performance and reliability in offshore environments.

• Manage budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation for engineering projects.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Liaise with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success.

• Utilize engineering software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB) for design and

analysis.


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in marine, offshore, or oil & gas industries.

• Proven management experience leading engineering teams and projects.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.

• Familiarity with offshore operations, drilling equipment, and subsea systems.

• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

• Ability to work in challenging offshore environments and travel as needed.

• Certifications such as PE, API, or ASME.

• Experience with FEA, CFD, and reliability engineering.

• Knowledge of marine propulsion systems, HVAC, and corrosion protection.
