Role Summary:

As a Network Engineer – Operations Consultant, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing network infrastructure operations. You will work on incident management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, change implementation, and stakeholder communication. You will also contribute to automation, process improvements, and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day network operations (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and Cloud Networks).
• Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Perform root cause analysis of critical outages and implement preventive measures.
• Manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
• Handle escalated incidents and service requests related to network connectivity, routing, switching, and security.
• Implement and support network changes as per ITIL-based change management practices.
• Create and maintain network documentation including topology diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Collaborate with vendors and ISPs to resolve issues and ensure SLA compliance.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and implement necessary controls (e.g., firewall rules, NAC policies).
• Drive network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) for routine tasks and monitoring.

Key Skills and Technologies:

• Expert knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, HSRP, STP, VLAN, QoS.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls and routers.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Wireshark).
• Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting VPNs, SD-WAN, and Cloud Networking (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow and network configuration management.
• Strong scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or Ansible is a plus.
• Understanding of information security principles and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Mandatory: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent
• Desirable: CCIE, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, AWS/Azure Networking certifications, ITIL Foundation
