JOB OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of the General Manager – Sales is to drive sustainable revenue growth by formulating and executing strategic sales initiatives. This role is responsible for expanding the company’s market share, developing high-value customer relationships, and ensuring the sales team achieves performance targets. The General Manager – Sales will play a crucial role in enhancing brand visibility, optimizing sales processes, and aligning sales efforts with overall business goals to maximize profitability.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY
- Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's vision and business objectives.
- Drive revenue growth and achieve/exceed annual sales targets.
- Develop pricing strategies to optimize profitability and competitiveness.
- Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and customer segments for business expansion.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to enhance performance and drive results.
- Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for the sales team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching for skill enhancement.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture through motivation and recognition programs.
- Key Account Management & Client Relationships
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Develop long-term partnerships and customer retention strategies.
- Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts.
- Sales Operations & Forecasting
- Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to drive informed decision-making.
- Ensure the implementation of effective CRM tools for sales pipeline management.
- Collaborate with internal departments (marketing, finance, product, operations) for seamless execution of sales initiatives.
- Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Conduct in-depth market research to assess demand, pricing, and product positioning.
- Recommend strategic actions based on competitive insights.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sales practices.
- Provide regular sales reports and insights to senior management.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the sales department.
JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales leadership roles, preferably in Building Materials.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving revenue targets.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to analyze data, market trends, and competitive insights to make informed decisions.
- Experience in handling key accounts and developing long-term client relationships.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other sales management tools.
- Strong Network with Architects, Government Departments, Contractors, Developers, MEP & Industry.
