In addition to monitoring and analysis, you will assist the Head of Media & PR with both strategy and execution—contributing to narrative planning, competitor tracking, and media engagement tactics. This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for trends, strong analytical skills, and experience in political or social campaign monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Media Monitoring & Tracking

  • Continuously track print, digital, and broadcast media coverage relevant to campaign priorities.
  • Monitor political, issue-based, and competitor narratives across local, regional, and national outlets.
  • Maintain organized records of coverage, including sentiment categorization and reach analysis.

Analysis & Insight Generation

  • Evaluate the impact of media campaigns using analytics tools and generate actionable insights.
  • Interpret data to assess audience engagement, sentiment shifts, and message penetration.
  • Identify emerging media trends and recommend strategies to leverage them for campaign advantage.

Reporting & Strategic Input

  • Prepare comprehensive media impact reports, competitor analysis decks, and audience engagement summaries.
  • Collaborate with research and content teams to prepare media briefs, talking points, and speech inputs.
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders, aligning with overall campaign objectives.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Support the Media & PR Head in strategy formulation and tactical execution.
  • Work closely with creative, content, and platform teams to ensure insights inform campaign messaging and media placement decisions.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Master’s degree in Media Studies, Communication, Journalism, or related fields.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in media analysis, preferably in political or social campaign environments.
  • Familiarity with media analytics tools such as Meltwater or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong analytical, research, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Soft Skills

  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Tamil.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and in high-pressure campaign environments.

Work Expectations

  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends during peak campaign phases.
  • Maintain high integrity and political sensitivity in handling campaign data and insights.
