Tools Designer Job Description
As a Tools Designer, you will be responsible for designing and creating tools and equipment used in manufacturing, construction, and other industrial settings. You will collaborate with engineers and other professionals to understand the requirements and specifications of a project and then use your creativity and technical skills to design innovative and functional tools. You will also be involved in testing and refining the tools to ensure they meet the quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to understand the requirements and specifications of a project
- Design tools and equipment using CAD software or other design tools
- Create detailed drawings and specifications for the tools
- Ensure that the tools are efficient, functional, and meet the safety standards
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for tool production
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to oversee the production process
- Test and evaluate the performance of the tools
- Make necessary adjustments or modifications to improve the tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Previous experience in tool design or a similar role
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and safety standards
