Staff Nurse Job Description
As a Staff Nurse, you will play a crucial role in assisting doctors and other healthcare professionals in diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients. You will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, maintaining accurate patient records, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including nursing assessments, medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and behaviors, and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, medication records, and treatment plans.
- Adhere to all medical and safety protocols, including infection control measures and medication administration guidelines.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families, and advocate for their needs and preferences.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay updated on the latest healthcare practices and technologies.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license and registration
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Proven experience as a Staff Nurse or similar role
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
