Solar Energy Consultant Job Description

As a Solar Energy Consultant, you will play a crucial role in promoting renewable energy and helping clients transition to solar power. You will work closely with clients to understand their energy requirements, conduct site assessments, and design solar power systems tailored to their needs. Additionally, you will provide cost and savings estimates, handle permits and incentive applications, and ensure the successful installation and functioning of solar panels.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with clients to determine their energy needs and assess the feasibility of solar energy solutions
  • Design and calculate solar power systems based on client's energy usage and site conditions
  • Prepare detailed proposals, including cost and savings estimates, and present them to clients
  • Handle all aspects of the solar installation process, including obtaining permits and coordinating with suppliers and contractors
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure proper installation and determine the performance of solar panels
  • Provide ongoing support to clients, including troubleshooting issues and addressing maintenance needs
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies related to solar energy systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field
  • Previous experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly in solar power
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, including PV panels, inverters, and battery storage
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software and tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and client management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Valid driver's license
