SHIPYARD HELPER Job Description
As a Shipyard Helper, you will work alongside experienced shipyard workers to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of ships and other marine vessels. Your responsibilities will include cleaning work areas, preparing materials, assisting with equipment operation, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in cleaning work areas and maintaining cleanliness in the shipyard
- Handle and transport materials and tools as needed
- Support shipyard workers in various tasks such as welding, painting, and sandblasting
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times
- Perform general maintenance tasks on vessels and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Previous experience in a shipyard or similar maritime environment is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations
Skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and equipment used in shipyard operations
