Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical Job Description
As a Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical, you will lead the evaluation, design, and development of mechanical systems and components. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are innovative, reliable, and meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products
- Create 2D and 3D models, drawings, and specifications using CAD software
- Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design requirements and constraints
- Identify and resolve design issues and technical problems
- Participate in design reviews and provide input for continuous improvement
- Support manufacturing processes and provide technical guidance
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior design engineers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer, preferably in the mechanical industry
- Proficient in CAD software and other engineering tools
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and techniques
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Ability to solve complex design problems and make sound engineering decisions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Strong project management skills
