Senior Bookkeeper Job Description

In this role, you will play a vital role in the financial operations of our company by managing the day-to-day bookkeeping tasks. You will be responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will also provide support to the finance team and collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of financial information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records by reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, including collecting and analyzing data, and providing insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and validate financial information
  • Provide support to the finance team in day-to-day operations and special projects
  • Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations and standards, and ensure compliance in all financial processes
  • Mentor and train junior bookkeepers as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, preferably in a senior position
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (preferred)
