Security Architect Job Description

As a Security Architect, you will play a key role in ensuring the security of our organization's systems and networks. You will collaborate with other IT professionals and business stakeholders to identify security requirements, design secure solutions, and implement security controls. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and detecting security breaches, conducting security audits and assessments, and providing recommendations for improving security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the organization's security architecture and ensure it aligns with business objectives
  • Design and implement security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption mechanisms
  • Conduct regular assessments of existing systems and infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats
  • Develop and document security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, including conducting forensic investigations
  • Provide guidance and support to IT teams in implementing security controls
  • Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Security Architect or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies
  • Experience with network and system security, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and vulnerability assessment tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred
