Radiologic Technologist Job Description
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare team by assisting in the diagnosis of various medical conditions. You will be responsible for preparing patients for imaging procedures, positioning them correctly, and operating the radiographic equipment to capture clear and accurate images. Additionally, you will work closely with radiologists and other medical professionals to ensure the quality and accuracy of the images produced.
Responsibilities
- Performing diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans
- Preparing patients for imaging procedures, including explaining the process and addressing any concerns
- Positioning patients correctly and operating radiographic equipment to capture high-quality images
- Ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures
- Reviewing and analyzing images to ensure they meet diagnostic requirements
- Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret and evaluate images
- Maintaining and operating imaging equipment, including troubleshooting any issues
- Adhering to radiation safety guidelines and protocols
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist
- Strong knowledge of anatomical positioning and medical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize workload
- Proficiency in using imaging software and equipment
