Probation Officer Job Description

As a Probation Officer, you will play a crucial role in the criminal justice system by working with individuals who have been convicted of crimes and sentenced to probation. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of probationers, creating rehabilitation plans, and monitoring their progress. Additionally, you will also collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and social workers, to provide support and resources to probationers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of probationers to determine their needs and risks

  • Monitor probationers' compliance with court-ordered conditions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or related field
  • Previous experience working in the criminal justice field is preferred
