Piping Design Engineer Job Description
As a Piping Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of piping systems for industrial projects. You will be responsible for creating detailed engineering drawings, conducting feasibility studies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful installation and operation of piping systems. Additionally, you will oversee the inspection and testing of piping systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) based on project requirements
- Develop piping layouts and isometric drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of piping system designs
- Collaborate with project teams to determine piping materials, dimensions, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all piping designs
- Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams during the installation phase
- Oversee the inspection and testing of piping systems to ensure quality and functionality
- Resolve any design or operational issues that arise during the project
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in piping design technologies and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in piping design and layout development
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Strong knowledge of piping codes, standards, and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools is a plus
