Park Naturalist Job Description
As a Park Naturalist, you will have the opportunity to work in beautiful outdoor settings and share your passion for nature with others. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and informative programs and activities to enhance visitors' understanding and appreciation of the park's natural resources. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in promoting conservation and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Lead guided nature walks and interpretive programs for park visitors
- Provide information and answer questions about wildlife, plants, geology, and other natural features
- Assist with the development and implementation of educational materials and exhibits
- Conduct research and collect data on park ecosystems
- Promote conservation and environmental sustainability through educational initiatives
- Collaborate with park staff and volunteers to coordinate events and activities
- Maintain and update records and reports related to educational programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, or a related field
- Knowledge of local flora and fauna and ecological processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience delivering educational programs or public speaking
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for nature and environmental conservation
