Network Security Engineer Job Description
As a Network Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our organization's network infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing and implementing security measures, monitoring network activity for security breaches, and responding to incidents in a timely manner. You will also collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that security practices are integrated into our network architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and access control systems
- Monitor network traffic and analyze logs for security breaches
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing remediation measures
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security vulnerabilities
- Develop and maintain network security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security practices into network architecture
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security technologies and trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of network security technologies and best practices
- Experience with network security tools and software, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Industry certifications like CISSP, CCNP Security, or CEH are preferred
