Internal Auditor Job Description
As an Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of our internal controls, financial systems, and operational processes. You will conduct audits to assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. In addition, you will provide recommendations for improvements and assist in the development of internal audit plans.
Responsibilities
- Performing financial, operational, and compliance audits to identify areas of risk and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and business processes
- Assessing the reliability and accuracy of financial statements and supporting documentation
- Identifying control gaps and deficiencies and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks
- Executing and documenting audit procedures and tests for assigned areas
- Preparing clear and concise audit reports with findings and recommendations
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
- Keeping updated with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in internal auditing
- Participating in the development of internal audit plans and programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal auditing or related financial role
- Thorough knowledge of auditing standards, principles, and practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
