Group Chief Accountant Job Description

As a Group Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the finance and accounting functions of the entire group of companies. You will provide financial leadership and guidance to the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting principles. You will also be responsible for budgeting, financial planning, and analysis, as well as managing the accounting team.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organization
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements and accounting principles
Develop and monitor financial budgets, forecasts, and projections
Provide financial analysis and guidance to senior management
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
Manage the accounting team, including supervision, training, and performance evaluation
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants
Conduct regular financial reviews and risk assessments
Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
