Groundskeeper Job Description
As a Groundskeeper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the outdoor areas of our property are well-maintained and visually appealing. You will be responsible for performing a variety of groundskeeping tasks, including mowing and trimming lawns, maintaining flower beds, planting new vegetation, and applying fertilizers and pesticides as needed. Additionally, you will be required to remove litter and debris from the outdoor spaces and assist in irrigation system maintenance. This role requires attention to detail and physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Mow and trim lawns using hand or power mowers and trimmers
- Plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and trees
- Water plants and maintain irrigation systems
- Apply fertilizers and pesticides to ensure healthy growth of plants
- Rake, sweep, and remove debris from outdoor areas
- Maintain and repair equipment, such as lawnmowers and sprinklers
- Keep outdoor areas clean and presentable
- Assist with snow removal during winter months
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to management
Qualifications
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping
- Knowledge of plants, trees, and flowers
- Physical stamina to work outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment and tools
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
