Epidemiologist Job Description
As an Epidemiologist, you will be responsible for studying patterns and causes of diseases and injuries in the general population. Your main goal will be to identify risk factors, develop strategies for prevention and control of diseases, and evaluate the effectiveness of public health interventions.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct epidemiological studies to investigate the spread and impact of diseases
- Collect and analyze data on disease patterns, risk factors, and outcomes
- Identify and track disease outbreaks and provide recommendations for control measures
- Collaborate with public health agencies and healthcare providers to develop and implement preventive strategies
- Evaluate the effectiveness of public health programs and interventions
- Prepare reports and scientific papers for publication and presentation
Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Epidemiology or related field
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software
- Experience in designing and conducting epidemiological studies
- Knowledge of public health principles and practices
- Ability to communicate complex findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences
