Director Of Security Job Description

As the Director of Security, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the organization's security strategies and programs. You will work closely with senior management to assess and mitigate any potential risks to the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Design and conduct security risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage and oversee physical security measures, including access control systems, surveillance cameras, and alarms.
  • Implement and manage security incident response plans.
  • Stay updated on the latest security technologies and trends to ensure the organization's security measures are up to date.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security issues and implement security controls.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on security policies and best practices.
  • Conduct investigations into security incidents and breaches, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external security partners and agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, IT Security).
  • Proven experience in a security leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles and best practices.
  • Experience in conducting security risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant security laws and regulations.
  • Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are a plus.
