Curator Job Description
As a Curator, you will play a key role in preserving and showcasing our collection. You will be responsible for researching and acquiring new pieces, organizing and cataloging existing pieces, and planning and executing exhibitions. You will also collaborate with artists, collectors, and other professionals in the art industry to promote the collection and enhance its value.
Responsibilities
- Research and acquire new artworks for the collection
- Catalog and organize existing artworks
- Plan and execute exhibitions and gallery displays
- Collaborate with artists and other professionals in the art industry
- Conduct research on art, history, and culture
- Maintain and update records of the collection
- Develop and implement preservation and conservation strategies
- Promote the collection and enhance its value through marketing and publicity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or related field
- Previous experience as a Curator or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of art, history, and culture
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with art handling and conservation practices
