Cardiovascular Technologist Job Description

As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and blood vessel diseases and conditions. You will perform various non-invasive procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), echocardiograms, and stress tests. Your role will also involve preparing patients for procedures, explaining the process to them, and monitoring their vital signs during the procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performing non-invasive cardiovascular tests and procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), echocardiograms, and stress tests
  • Operating specialized equipment to obtain diagnostic images and data
  • Preparing patients for procedures and explaining the process to them
  • Monitoring patients' vital signs and responding to any changes or abnormalities
  • Assisting cardiologists in interpreting test results and diagnosing cardiovascular conditions
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field
  • Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist
  • Previous experience working in a cardiovascular lab or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Proficiency in operating cardiovascular testing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
