Animation Director Job Description
In this role, you will ensure that the animation team meets project deadlines and maintains the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with the art director, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop and execute the animation vision for each project. You will also provide guidance and feedback to animators, ensuring their work aligns with the project's style and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of animators, providing mentorship, feedback, and guidance
- Collaborate with the art director, project managers, and other stakeholders to establish the animation vision for each project
- Oversee the entire animation process, ensuring the team meets project deadlines and maintains quality standards
- Review and provide feedback on storyboards, animatics, and final animation sequences
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques, and explore new technologies and tools to enhance the animation pipeline
- Participate in production meetings and provide input on story, character development, and visual style
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Proven experience as an Animation Director or in a similar role
- Proficient in 2D and 3D animation software and tools
- Strong artistic and storytelling skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for visual aesthetics
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders
