Accessibility Specialist Job Description
As an Accessibility Specialist, you will work closely with designers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that websites, applications, and other digital products are accessible to all users. You will conduct accessibility audits, provide guidance on accessibility best practices, and advocate for accessibility within the organization. Additionally, you will stay up to date with accessibility regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct accessibility audits of websites and digital products to identify accessibility barriers
- Provide guidance on accessible design and development to ensure compliance with accessibility standards
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and other stakeholders to incorporate accessibility features and improvements
- Conduct user testing with individuals with disabilities to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
- Advocate for accessibility within the organization and raise awareness of the importance of inclusive design
- Stay up to date with accessibility regulations and standards and ensure compliance
- Train and educate team members on accessibility best practices
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines such as WCAG 2.0/2.1
- Experience conducting accessibility audits and evaluations
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and their applications
- Familiarity with web accessibility evaluation tools
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Skills
