Responsible for turnover and profit of the Unit

l Detailing the business plan for the unit.

l Forecasting and addressing demand of services.

l Identifying and focusing on profitable service lines.

l Monitoring costs to keep them at optimal levels.

l  Ensuring optimal utilization of resources and personnel

Responsible for achieving the overall strategies

·        Identifying performance targets and responsibilities for Operational HOD’s.

·        Reviewing and evaluating performance against the targets.

·        Identifying and addressing deviations and its relevant causes.





·        Monitoring and ensuring operational goals are met by all departments.

·        Conduct monthly meetings to review operational performance of the month.

Proposing plans to the Management

·        On operational tasks like infrastructure growth, Recruitment, Performance reviews and Compensation and budgeting.

Collaboration with Medical Professionals

·        To collaboratively work with Medical Director to ensure smooth clinical operation.

·        Developing consensus among the professionals on matters related to operations, prior to the development of the budget.

·        Involving the medical professionals in the decisions related to the medical operations.

Implement and review the schemes, programs and plans pertaining to Personnel in co-ordination with the Department of Human Resources

·        Recruitment and Performance evaluation.

·        Employee training and staff welfare.

·        Employee career planning and growth.

·        Organizational Survey.

·        Ensuring good employee relations are maintained at the hospitals.

Implementation of the finalized patient services initiatives

·        Monitoring and reviewing all patient related services to ensure high score on the Customer Satisfaction Index.

Implementing review and control mechanisms

·        Establishing MIS in critical areas to help reporting and problem solving.

·        Ensuring seamless information flow.

Accountable for delivery of committed quality services

·        Defining parameters for the measurement of service quality.

·        Evaluating performance against such parameters.

·        Devising and implementing control mechanisms to address variances

Image Building

·        Representing the organization at external forums and contribute to building a positive image of the organization.

Other Responsibilities

·        Periodical review of all contracts and its evaluation.

·        Ensure applicable legislation and regulations are met appropriately.

·        Organizational Committees performance monitoring.

·        Initiate and participate in community health initiatives.

·        To set priorities for quality improvement and guide department heads in achieving the same.

·        Formulate and release plan and policies.

·        Risk assessment and reduction activities

Required Competencies

Degree in Hospital Administration

Good technical knowledge in hospital administration

Working knowledge of computer (MS Office)

Report writing skills

Manage Quality Indicators of departments like LAB, Radiology, Emergency and ICUs

Monitoring Attendance of Staff members

Managing Critical Incidents – Clinical and Non-clinical

Asset utilization

Disciplinary actions taken

Punctuality for work

Number of leaves taken

Memos received

Understanding of hospital SOPs and protocols
