Position Description
Job Title: Junior Engineer
Department: Quality- Supplier Quality Development
Location: Rajkot - Gujarat
Direct Reports: SQD Engineer
Type of Hire: Full-time employee
Candidate Profile - Minimum Requirements
Required Qualification: Diploma or B.E. Mechanical / Metallurgy
Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
Preferred Industrial background: Valve manufacturing industry
Job Summary (Areas of Responsibility)
- The Supplier Quality Development Engineer ensures all supplier products meet manufacturing specifications and company standards.
- Drive supplier quality performance in new product development and product quality improvement.
- Lead and communicate for Collaborative Product and Process Development.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of foundries to assess capabilities, processes, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Capable of Interpreting:
- Knowledge of material standards/specifications and testing for metallic/non-metallic materials
- Familiarity with ASTM standards for MTR review
- Proficiency in calibrating and using conventional instruments, gauges, and CMM
- Understanding of coating/painting inspection, film thickness measurement, adhesion, and holiday testing
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret GD&T
- Expertise in inspection methods and selecting M&TE for tolerances
- Preferred: NDT Level II in VT, PT, MT, UT and understanding ASME Section V and IX requirements
Relevant Experience
- Experience in valve and actuator manufacturing or automotive industry
- Experience in Supplier audit.
- 1-4 years of experience working with metal materials & soft goods.
- Certification in NDE methods, PT, MT, UT and RT, certified as Level 2, preferable.
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015, PED, ISO17025, ASTM, API, standards.
- Working knowledge with MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other soft documentation systems.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems beneficial
- Experience in preparing material test certificates in accordance with ASTM and PED
