Engineering Team Lead

Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic senior software engineer to join us as Team Lead, Software Engineering and lead Engineering team units and create a culture of Engineering Excellence in and outside the organisation. This role is central to our organisation’s success as both a market force and a thought leader for driving cutting edge Engineering practices. You will be directly responsible for building the software running the platform that will power the Indian hyperscale cloud ecosystem.

In this role, you’ll be leading a young team who will look up to you not only for technical guidance, but also for mentorship on their career growth paths.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities in this role will be centered around the following:

1. Leading frontend and backend Engineering teams by providing tactical and operational management oversight.
2. Ensuring consistency and predictability in Product delivery and quality by developing sound SDLC standards, practices and processes.
3. Conducting timely reviews of all day-to-day Engineering activities and creating effective action plans to address any inadequacies and/or shortcomings.
4. Technically guiding, implementing and building solutions by creating and/or reviewing technology trends, software architectures, documentations, coding guidelines, sprints, release processes and quality standards.
5. Participating in Product strategy activities with internal stakeholders responsible for software development process.
6. Exploring and validating new technologies, patterns and practices to incorporate into the platform development.

Requirements

Needless to say, this role is a combination of proven experience and the ability to think spontaneously. We’ll be evaluating your candidature on the following criteria:

• 5+ years of experience of working on Product development and software Engineering.
• A Product-driven mindset and approach to problem solving.
• Strong leadership skills that can be applied within the function as well as cross-functionally.
• Prior experience of technically developing solutions, software architectures and setting up SDLC practices.
• Prior experience and/or aptitude towards open-source technologies and on-premises software deployments.
• Strong technical knowledge and a core skill set consisting of JavaScript-based software development frameworks, tools, libraries and methodologies.
• Up to date knowledge on industry trends, best practices, and change management.
• Exceptional communication skills with clear verbal and written articulation.

A proven track record of managing Engineering teams is a bonus qualification that will help your application.
