Profile - VMware Engineer

Experience - 7 - 8 years of IT Systems Administration experience in Virtualization and Cloud Automation Technology.

Roles and Responsibilities

·        Ability to build & maintain a strong working relationship with other Technical teams using the agile methodology (internal and external),

·        Managing Virtualization & CLOUD Service Operations Team stack in Service Now

·        Attend MIM / PIR and daily Cloud Infra related calls

·        Manage escalated tickets from Service Ops

·        Ability to manage Major incidents

·        Coordination with vendors (VMware, HP, Dell, CISCO, Pure etc.)

·        Deep knowledge of vCenter and ESXi installation, configuration / troubleshooting

·        Evolution of risk in private cloud and virtualization.

·        Fair knowledge about vRealize Automation tool VMware SAN / VCF infrastructure using SDDC manager.

·        Participate in problem management and root cause analysis and maintain 24x7 availability and monitoring of business system servers

·        Demonstrates excellent understanding of technology and the role of the "client" in relation to the larger IT infrastructure

·        Provides input into Cloud & Virt project plans and manage BAU Projects.

·        Management of tasks and responsibilities to ensure the efficient running of the Supported Services.

·        Manage weekend project support related requirment and also prepare weekend change details and share with team

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

• VMware 6.7+ Certified
•  NSX/vRA/VRops Certified preferred
• Good understanding about VMWare SDDC
•  ITIL Foundation
•  Good Communication Skill
•  Adept at automating in one or more scripting languages, such as Power Shell, HTML scripting or other programming languages
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services
• Strong desire to automate and to teach others
• Build cutting-edge automation tools to improve capacity and velocity for software engineers and production operations

•  Current knowledge and hands on experience of virtualization and automation technologies (VMware/KVM) as well as HP, Dell and Cisco UCS hardware hyper converged technologies.
• Strong knowledge of ESXi, VCenter, Update Manager, DRS, HA, Vmotion, HCX, V2V & P2V migrations.
• Working knowledge and demonstrable experience of supporting MS Windows and/or RHEL on virtual platforms.
•  Exposure to AWS, OpenStack Cloud OS and Linux KVM an advantage.
• Experience working with Service Now/ITIL based ticketing tool an advantage
